AuthoredUp review: the best editor on LinkedIn, and only that

Written by the team behind Blendin, which competes with AuthoredUp. Where AuthoredUp is the better buy, this page says so, and the section on Blendin names what Blendin itself does not do.
Is AuthoredUp worth it?
If you write your own LinkedIn posts, yes, and at $19.95 a month it is close to the easiest purchase in this category. The formatting, the preview and the post analytics are the best available and nothing else is really competing for that job. It does not write posts for you, it does not make carousels, and it does not touch any network other than LinkedIn, so if any of those is what you came for, this is not it.
AuthoredUp is a LinkedIn content creation and analytics tool that runs as a browser extension inside LinkedIn's own editor plus a web app. You write the post yourself; it makes writing it, seeing it and measuring it dramatically better.
The editor handles bold, italics, bullets, numbered lists and clean line breaks so they actually render on LinkedIn, and it keeps reusable snippets and a central drafts store, so the hooks and closers you trust are one click away rather than in a note somewhere. It ships more than 300 hooks and post endings.
The preview is the part people stay for: a faithful view of the post on desktop, tablet and mobile including the see more cut off, with live character count, word count, reading time and a readability score. If you obsess over the first two lines, this is the tool that lets you.
Analytics cover your own posts and profile, with trends over time, engagement and reaction breakdowns, and a side by side comparison of two posts to see what actually drove the difference.

What AuthoredUp is genuinely good at
Formatting that renders the way you meant it
LinkedIn's own editor is thin, and getting bold text, real bullets and reliable line breaks out of it is a chore. AuthoredUp removes that chore completely, and it is the single most cited reason people pay for it.
The most accurate preview available
Desktop, tablet and mobile, with the see more truncation shown where it will actually fall. The first two lines decide whether a LinkedIn post gets read, and this is the only tool that lets you tune them against the real cut off rather than by guessing.
Post analytics with a real comparison view
Trends, engagement and reaction breakdowns and, more usefully, two posts side by side. Most analytics tell you what happened. That comparison is one of the few features anywhere that helps you work out why.
A team plan that is genuinely cheaper per person
The Business plan runs $14.95 per profile a month with a three profile minimum, which is less per seat than the individual price. For an agency or an in house team where several people write their own posts, that is unusual and worth knowing.
You can try it without a card
The free trial needs no credit card. Its own pages do not state how long it runs, which is a small omission on their part, but the absence of a card is the part that matters when you are just trying to look at a product.
Where AuthoredUp falls short
It does not write the post
This is the defining limit, not a criticism. There are AI hook suggestions, but no full post generation. If you are staring at an empty box, AuthoredUp does not help with that, and it is not trying to.
No carousels, no images, no documents
It can preview a PDF carousel inline, but it will not build one. Anything visual happens in another tool, and stays there.
LinkedIn and nothing else
No Instagram, Facebook, Threads or TikTok. If your week includes any of those, AuthoredUp is one subscription of several rather than the one that covers you.
It is a browser extension in your LinkedIn session
That is how it reaches LinkedIn's editor and how it can be as good as it is at formatting. It is a widely used and long established tool, so this is context rather than an alarm, but it is a different access model from a tool publishing through LinkedIn's own API.
Who should buy AuthoredUp
- Anyone who already writes their own LinkedIn posts and wants them to look right and read better. At $19.95 this is close to a default purchase.
- Writers who care about the see more cut off and want to tune the opening against a real preview rather than a guess.
- A team of three or more people who each write for their own profile, where the $14.95 per profile Business plan is cheaper per person than buying individually.
- Anyone who wants to understand their own post performance properly, especially the comparison of one post against another.
Where Blendin fits, and where it does not
Blendin does not compete with this. It is built to be the marketing department a B2B services company does not have: paste the company URL, and it reads the real colours, fonts and logo off those pages, writes and designs the piece in that brand, and publishes it to LinkedIn, personal profiles and Company Pages, plus Instagram, Facebook and Threads, with TikTok on Pro. The starting point is a blank page and a company, not a draft.
AuthoredUp is the better buy whenever you already write. If the words arrive fine and what you want is for them to look right, render correctly and be measured properly, buying Blendin to solve that would be paying $59 for a job a $19.95 tool does better. Its preview and its post analytics are both deeper than Blendin's, and that is not a close call.
The two also sit together comfortably, and plenty of people run both: draft and design in one, format and measure in the other. If you want to see how Blendin writes before deciding anything, the free LinkedIn text formatter and hook generator on this site need no account.
What Blendin does not do
The same honesty the section above applies to AuthoredUp, applied here.
- It is not a browser extension, so it cannot sit inside LinkedIn's own composer and format a post you have already started typing there. It publishes through LinkedIn's own API instead, which is a different access model with a different set of things it can reach.
- Its preview shows the post as each network will render it, but it does not model the see more truncation across desktop, tablet and mobile the way a dedicated editor does. If tuning the first two lines against the exact cut off is the job, AuthoredUp does it better.
- Post analytics are real numbers from the networks, with honest empty states while they are still landing, and there is no side by side comparison of two posts to work out why one did better.
- It starts at $59 a month, three times the price of AuthoredUp's Individual plan, and there is no per profile team price that falls below the single user rate.
- The 14 day trial runs on the full Starter plan and asks for a card up front, where AuthoredUp's trial does not.
Related questions
Each answer stands on its own, so it can be quoted without the page around it. Every figure was read from authoredup.com/pricing on 11 September 2026.
Does AuthoredUp write posts with AI?
Not the full post. It offers AI suggested hooks and openers, and it ships more than 300 hooks and post endings, but it is built to format, preview, schedule and analyse posts you write yourself.
How much does AuthoredUp cost?
The Individual plan is $19.95 a month, or $199.50 a year, which is $16.63 a month. The Business plan is $14.95 per profile a month with a minimum of three profiles, or $149.50 per profile a year, which is $12.46 a month. Read from authoredup.com/pricing on 11 September 2026.
What is the cheapest AuthoredUp can be for a team?
The Business plan has a three profile minimum, so the floor is three times $14.95, which is $44.85 a month. Paid yearly it is three times $149.50, which is $448.50 a year, or $37.38 a month. That per profile rate is lower than the $19.95 Individual plan, so three people on Business costs less than three separate Individual subscriptions. Prices read from authoredup.com/pricing on 11 September 2026; the multiplication is ours.
Can AuthoredUp publish a carousel to LinkedIn?
It can preview a PDF carousel inline, and it will not build one. The design happens in another tool and comes back as a finished PDF. If making the carousel is the part you need help with, AuthoredUp is not the tool that does it.
Does AuthoredUp have a free trial?
Yes, and it needs no credit card. Its own pages do not state a length, so this page does not either. If the duration matters to your decision, ask them before you start it.
Does AuthoredUp support Company Pages?
Yes. Company pages are listed on the Individual plan, along with scheduling and a drag and drop content calendar across connected profiles. It is still LinkedIn only.
AuthoredUp or Blendin?
AuthoredUp if you write your own posts and want them formatted, previewed and measured properly, on LinkedIn only, for $19.95. Blendin if the writing and the design are what you do not have time to do, and if the post needs to go to Instagram, Facebook or Threads as well as LinkedIn. They solve opposite halves of the problem and they work fine side by side.
Blendin and AuthoredUp, side by side
Blendin vs AuthoredUpAuthoredUp polishes a post you wrote. Blendin writes and designs it first.Other reviews
